The easiest thing we could have done was quit.
Instead, we built HARDWORK again.
Every brand has a beginning. Ours wasn’t born in a boardroom, backed by investors, or built with unlimited resources.
Before There Was HARDWORK
The journey began in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad).
Our founder, Amit Mishra, completed his schooling at St. Joseph’s College before leaving home in 2003 with nothing more than ambition and the willingness to work.
The next several years were spent learning from every opportunity life offered.
Working in international customer support taught the importance of listening to people.
Sales taught how trust is earned.
Studying, changing cities, and running businesses taught discipline, responsibility, and resilience.
None of those years were spent making shoes.
But every one of those years was preparing us to build a footwear company that would stand for something more than just selling products.
In 2015, one decision changed everything.
No matter how long the journey would take…
Footwear would be our life’s work.
From that moment onward, every step was simply preparing us for the dream.
Learning Before Building
We believed that before building a factory, we first had to build ourselves.
Running a small cafeteria taught us that customers return because of consistency, not promises.
Learning footwear manufacturing at CFTI, Agra taught us to respect the craft before entering the business.
Only after learning, failing, improving, and understanding the process did we feel ready to begin.
In late 2018, HARDWORK’s first manufacturing unit came to life.
It wasn’t large.
It wasn't modern.
It was a small setup with a handful of machines, a small team, and a dream much bigger than the factory itself.
Every pair we produced represented another lesson.
Every customer gave us another opportunity to improve.
Slowly, distributors trusted us.
Retailers believed in us.
And HARDWORK began finding its place in the market.
Dreaming Bigger
By June 2022, years of persistence had started to show results.
We moved into a 4,456 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in the footwear hub of Jhajjar, Haryana.
What once began inside a single hall had grown into a complete manufacturing setup with cutting, stitching, lasting, pasting, and finishing operations under one roof.
Our family grew to 25 factory workers and 9 dedicated staff members.
We entered government procurement and successfully executed large institutional orders, including a government supply order of 69,000 pairs of footwear.
For us, it wasn’t just another contract.
It was proof that a dream born in a small hall could stand beside much bigger companies through nothing but commitment, consistency, and HARDWORK.
The Fall
But every journey has a chapter that tests everything you believe.
Ours arrived in February 2024.
Manufacturing is about much more than making great footwear.
It is about working capital, inventory, supplier payments, wages, logistics, timing, and surviving challenges that customers never see.
Despite our best efforts, we ran out of resources.
The hardest decision of our journey had to be made.
We shut down the factory.
We sold our machinery.
We cleared our debts.
We closed the doors.
Years of sacrifice disappeared in what felt like a single moment.
Watching something you built with your own hands come to an end is a feeling that is difficult to describe.
It hurts.
It humbles you.
It makes you question everything.
Many people thought that was the end of HARDWORK.
For a moment Even we wondered. Then we remembered something.
Our factory was gone.
Our belief wasn’t.
Starting Again
Failure can end a dream.
Or it can refine it.
We chose the second path.
Slowly…
Patiently…
Step by step…
We began building again.
In December 2025, HARDWORK returned with a new beginning—an EVA clogs manufacturing unit in Prayagraj.
This time, we didn’t try to become the biggest.
We focused on becoming better.
Smaller.
Smarter.
More efficient.
More customer-focused.
Today, our factory manufactures approximately 15,000 pairs every month, with a growing wholesale network across Uttar Pradesh and a new mission of serving customers across India through our online store.
The factory may be different.
The products may have evolved.
But the belief remains exactly the same.
Why We Call Ourselves HARDWORK
Because hard work is the only thing that stayed with us through every chapter.
It stayed when we had our first customer. It stayed when we had hundreds. It stayed when we expanded. It stayed when we lost everything. And it stayed when we started again.
Anyone can celebrate success. Character is built when success disappears.
HARDWORK is not just the name on our footwear. It is the promise behind every pair we make.
